Rental Assistance

NRM offers rental assistance to people in North Raleigh in financial crisis. To get help with rental assistance please schedule an appointment by calling: 919.844.6676 x 158. You will also need to bring required documentation. Read below for information regarding eligibility and required documents.

Food Assistance

The NRM Client Choice Market provides clients the opportunity to choose their own groceries and household supplies. To get help with food please come to our crisis center during walk-in hours. You’ll also need to bring required documentation.

Utility Assistance

North Raleigh residents experiencing financial crisis can get help with their utility bills. Those with late notices or who have had services shut off can apply. To get help with utility bill assistance please schedule an appointment by calling: 919.844.6676 x 158. You will also need to bring required documentation. Read below for information regarding eligibility and required documents.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible clients must demonstrate a financial need for rental assistance, utility bill assistance or food assistance by supplying the required documentation that confirms that need.

NRM currently supports people who live in these zip codes:

  • 27613
  • 27614
  • 27615
  • 27616

Required Documents

You must bring the following documents every time you visit the Crisis Center. You will be asked to reschedule your appointment if you do not have all required documents. All documents must be printed on paper; digital copies are not accepted.

  • Valid NC Photo ID
  • Social security card for all household members (originals only)
  • All current household bills (anything that is paid monthly) for the last 60 days
  • Documentation of cause of crisis (i.e. car repair, layoff, or medical bills)
  • Current signed lease or mortgage agreement
  • Utility bill late notice or disconnect notice (if seeking utility bill assistance)
  • Rental late notice or eviction notice (if seeking rental assistance)
  • Verification of all household income for the last 60 days. Examples: 
    • Pay Stubs
    • Social Security or Disability Statement
    • Unemployment Benefits
