The Crisis Center helps families in North Raleigh!

BackPack Buddies:    For January through May 2015 NRM provided 1,686 backpacks of food on weekends for students. Approximately 97 students each week received the backpacks at five schools; Green Elementary, Stough Elementary, Baileywick Road Elementary, Lead Mine Elementary and Millbrook Elementary. We do not provide backpacks during the summer.

Food Market: From January through May, 2015 NRM fed 631families impacting 1,147 individuals. Our garden is growing vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, herbs squash and zucchini – vegetables from our garden are now being harvested for the pantry.

We were able to do so because of your continued support!

Financial Assistance

Crisis Center: Financial donations and Thrift Shoppe proceeds are cycled back into the local community through the Crisis Center, where neighbors who qualify can receive assistance with rent or mortgage payments, utility bills and prescription medication. To accomplish the greatest good with the resources available, trained volunteers assess the critical needs of their neighbors and arrange for payments to be made directly to the lessors, agencies or retailers. The privilege of helping our neighbors is a sacred and earnest endeavor, and donors can be assured that great care is taken to distribute the funds with great stewardship.

Neighbors requesting financial assistance must call (919)844-6676 on Monday or Thursday at 10am.  Appointments are made in the order that they are received. In order to receive financial assistance, clients MUST have all of the documentation listed on our main Crisis Center page.
