Our Crisis Center helps families in the Raleigh community!

BackPack Buddies:    For 2015 NRM provided 3,304 backpacks of food on weekends for students. Approximately 120 students each week received the backpacks at six schools; Green Elementary, Stough Elementary, Baileywick Road Elementary, Lead Mine Elementary, Brassfield Elementary, and Millbrook Elementary. We do not provide backpacks during the summer.

Food Market:  In 2015 2,426 families and 3,742 individuals received food from the Crisis Center.  In addition to the vegetables produced from our garden, we were blessed with  donations of food and non-perishable items from church and group food drives, restaurants, individuals and companies.  We also shared with Helping Hands Mission, Capital Towers, Love Wins Ministry, and others providing sustenance to our community neighbors.

Special Events:   Throughout the year NRM held special events for neighbors and families in the community.  In addition to Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner boxes, toys, baskets and stockings were provided.  The Dental Bus was with us for three visits impacting 43 individuals.  We were also able to provide school supplies and books because of your generous donations.

The many blessings bestowed on NRM are so greatly appreciated!

Financial Assistance

Crisis Center: Financial donations and Thrift Shoppe proceeds are cycled back into the local community through the Crisis Center, where neighbors who qualify can receive assistance with rent or mortgage payments, utility bills and prescription medication. To accomplish the greatest good with the resources available, trained volunteers assess the critical needs of their neighbors and arrange for payments to be made directly to the lessors, agencies or retailers. The privilege of helping our neighbors is a sacred and earnest endeavor, and donors can be assured that great care is taken to distribute the funds with great stewardship.

Neighbors requesting financial assistance must call (919)844-6676 on Monday or Thursday at 10am.  Appointments are made in the order that they are received. In order to receive financial assistance, clients MUST have all of the documentation listed on our main Crisis Center page.
