Denise Crumpler - Executive Director
Denise grew up in the Raleigh area and graduated from Meredith College with a BA in Psychology.While her children were growing up, Denise volunteered for 27 years in the public school system and with her church. She completed the Duke Nonprofit Management Certificate program and is also trained as a disaster relief chaplain. Denise is the NC Association of Volunteer Administrators Education Chair and holds her certification as Certified Administrator of Volunteers in North Carolina (CAVNC). She is also a Faith & Finances Certified Facilitator through The Chalmer Center. Denise enjoys spending time with her family and some of her favorite Bible Scriptures are “What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8), “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control. Against such things there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23), and “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:12-13).
Julie Sager - Chief Operating Officer
Julie grew up in the New England area, but has called Raleigh home for the last 16 years. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Degree in Social Work. She has spent the last seven years working in the non-profit sector with homeless and financially fragile people in Wake County. Previous to this, she served in the United States Air Force for eight years. She is involved with the United Way of the Greater Triangles’ Financial Stability Cabinet and the Raleigh/Wake Partnership to End and Prevent Homelessness. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. One of her favorite scriptures is, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” (Galatians 6:9-10)
Eleonore MacLean - Crisis Center Manager
Eleonore has volunteered at North Raleigh Ministries in our Crisis Center & Food Pantry for several years! She loves working with the neighbors and keeping thing organized and clean! Eleonore moved to NC from California over 28 years ago and is married, has one daughter and 2 granddaughters. She attends St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. "Whoever is kind to the needy honors God." (Proverbs 14:31)
Cynthia Sexton - Interim Thrift Shoppe Manager
Cynthia is a North Carolina native, and has raised her family in Raleigh. A CPA, she left Big Four accounting twenty years ago and has since enjoyed working for several local nonprofits, specializing in financial systems and infrastructure. She is delighted to be the interim Thrift Store Manager, and has loved getting to know all the volunteers who make the Store an amazing place to shop. Her guiding Bible verse is “Let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth” (I John 3:18).
Cindy Whittington - Office Manager & Financial Coordinator
Cindy is married to a wonderful husband with two children, ages 13 & 10. She has a Trust Management Degree with minor in Financial Planning from Campbell University and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She has been with North Raleigh Ministries since 2007 and enjoys taking trips and spending time with her family. Her favorite Bible Scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future.”
