Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you accept for volunteers?

We accept volunteers 11 years of age and older. Volunteers ages 11-15 years require a parent or guardian to be present while volunteering at all times.

Does NRM offer volunteer hours for Community Service?

NRM accepts court ordered, lawyer recommended, and school required community service volunteers with 20 or more service hours to complete. NRM only accepts non-violent applicants with offenses such as traffic tickets, DWI, DUI and drug-related charges. Court ordered and lawyer recommended community service volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present at all times. Applicants must be able to commit to consistent, weekly schedule.

Is there a minimum time commitment?

Yes, we ask for a 3 month commitment to a regular weekly shift. Thrift Shoppe volunteer shifts are a minimum of 4 hours. Crisis and Development Center volunteer shift times vary.
